There are people, who want to leave some of us out in the cold,
They draw narrow little lines where they fit in just right,
But it’s so impossible for some to pass the threshold
And they are left out in the silent darkness outside the light
There are people that want to fit us into neat little squares
When we come in all shapes and forms imaginable
And some of us must silently endure other people’s stares
Or be forced to conform ourselves to suit their label
I have no wish to squeeze myself into a tight slot
I’m a person, a human being, a living creature: I am me
I have no obligations at all to be something I am not
Let’s cast away all the unwritten rules and be free
